Application

• Blood and serum samples should be collected from calves prior to colostrum or once the animal is 3 months of age or older.  Ear notch samples may be collected at any age. 

• We need about 2 ccs of blood in a plain red top tube or a 1 cm x 1 cm ear notch tissue sample. Ear notch samples must be submitted in a plain red top tube. 

Schedule, Pricing, and Submission

• The BVD ELISA test is run weekly on Mondays with results sent that day.  Samples must arrive on or prior to 2 pm on Friday. Herd Health Diagnostics is closed all major holidays. 

• The cost per sample is $4.00.  

• Download and fill out the submission form below and include in your shipment with the samples and payment.

Shipping

• Samples can be shipped through any carrier (USPS, FedEx or UPS), but samples should not be in transit for more than a few days.  It is recommended to ship on ice packs during the summer months.
